Cybersecurity Awareness Month Recap – Use Strong Passwords

In our last post, we discussed “Update Your Software”.

This week, we are focusing on a section of cybersecurity that involves everyone in an organization: Passwords.

For part 4 of this 5-part blog series recapping CISA and NCA’s Cyber Security Awareness Month, using strong passwords is at the forefront.

What is a “strong password”?

A strong password includes a mixture of at least a number, an uppercase and a lowercase letter, and about 11 characters total. Another contributor to a strong password is its exclusivity. If you use the same password on more than one platform, this increases your risk.

To keep cyber-security tight, organizations or individuals may implement password managers, which create and remember multiple unique and strong passwords for each platform, all while encrypting your passwords to keep them secure.

It is important to note that sensitive user information is heavily stored on personal devices. With strong passwords on these devices, you can put cyber security first and protect your information as well as your family or organization.

If you’re looking for a more direct route to securing your organization, we offer cybersecurity solutions that fit to your needs so you can prioritize your assets and protect them.
